1-Year-Old Boy Suffers Severe Burns in Navosa Incident: Police Urge Parents to Prioritize Child Safety

The Fiji Police Force is urging parents and guardians to closely monitor young children to prevent accidents and loss of life following an incident on March 9th, 2025, in Navosa, where a 1-year-old boy sustained over 50% burns from a hot pot placed on the floor.
The child was rushed to Navosa Hospital and later transferred to Lautoka Aspen Hospital, where he remains admitted.
Investigations into the incident will also consider the element of negligence.
Authorities are reminding parents and guardians to stay alert to potential safety threats in and around homes to ensure the safety and well-being of young children.
