16 Year Old Drowns

A 16-year-old male student from Nadi is believed to be the country’s latest drowning victim.

The Fiji Police Force says the student was swimming with friends in the Narewa River yesterday morning when the incident occurred.

He was pulled out of the water by his friends, but attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful.

The teenager was later pronounced dead at Nadi Hospital.

Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.
