Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACPO) Livai Driu announced that 160 police officers are on standby in the Western Division to respond to the adverse weather conditions.

With reports of flooding continuing to come in, ACP Driu is urging everyone to be prepared for the worst.

He noted that Ba and Rakiraki towns are now closed to all traffic, and movements in and out of these towns will be strictly monitored by police.

"We are calling on all motorists not to enter these towns because of the level of flood waters at the moment," said ACP Driu.

Police and other government officials are closely monitoring developments on the ground and will continue to provide updates as the situation evolves.
