3-year-old boy drowns in Wainibuka River

A three-year-old boy from Burelevu Village in Saivou, Ra, is believed to be the latest drowning victim.

According to Police, the incident occurred yesterday afternoon at the Wainibuka River. It is alleged that the child had sneaked out of his home and went swimming in the river.

Family members raised the alarm after discovering the boy was missing, prompting villagers to form a search party. The child’s body was later found along the river.

The body was conveyed to Wainimaro Hospital by relatives.

Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.
