61 Killed in 48 Hours of Israeli Strikes on Gaza as UN Races to Provide Vaccinations
WORLD

In the past 48 hours, Israeli military strikes in Gaza have claimed the lives of at least 61 people, as the war between Israel and Gaza continues 11 months in, with no successful ceasefire despite multiple diplomatic efforts.
Despite ongoing conflict, the UN and local health authorities are pressing ahead with a crucial campaign to vaccinate 640,000 children in Gaza after a 25-year hiatus since the last polio case. Limited ceasefires have enabled this vital effort to continue.
Meanwhile, tens of thousands of Israelis have taken to the streets in Tel Aviv and other cities, demanding that Prime Minister Netanyahu secure the release of the remaining 101 hostages.
This outcry comes after six hostages were reportedly executed by Hamas before Israeli troops discovered their bodies in a Gaza tunnel last Saturday.
