8-Year-Old Child Killed in Road Accident on Dreketi Highway

An 8-year-old child is believed to be the latest road fatality in Fiji following a tragic accident on the Dreketi Highway near Basikalave Settlement yesterday afternoon.

According to police reports, the child allegedly ran onto the road suddenly, when he was hit by a vehicle driven by a man in his 50s.

Authorities have confirmed that the driver will be questioned, pending the results of a post-mortem examination.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
