KUAPP Unveils ‘Modern Fiji 2056’ Vision

The Kingdom Unite All People’s Party (KUAPP) has outlined a long-term development vision for Fiji, calling for greater focus on planning beyond individual election cycles.

Party Leader Sefanaia Manoa and Campaign Lead Abel Camillo said the party’s “Modern Fiji 2056” vision would focus on investment in infrastructure, education, healthcare, technology, renewable energy, agriculture, tourism and new industries.

The plan is divided into three stages — 2026 to 2036 to build the foundations, 2036 to 2046 to expand Fiji’s economic capacity, and 2046 to 2056 to position Fiji as a modern and globally connected Pacific nation.

Manoa and Camillo said Fiji should also encourage responsible international investment while ensuring that development creates jobs, skills, opportunities and stronger local businesses for Fijians.

“We cannot continue to measure national success only by what happens during one parliamentary term. We must build for our children and grandchildren,” they said in a joint statement.

KUAPP said progress under its vision would be measured through areas including job creation, investment, exports, infrastructure development, skills training and improvements in living standards.

The party also called for cooperation between government, businesses, workers, communities, young people, investors and Fijians living overseas in pursuing Fiji’s long-term development.
