Four in Custody Following Drug Raids in Western Division
Four people remain in police custody following a series of raids in Nadi and Lautoka that resulted in the seizure of substances believed to be illicit drugs and ammunition.
Police say a raid was conducted in Solovi, Nadi, late last night, where two men were arrested.
During the operation, officers seized plastic packets containing white crystals believed to be illicit drugs, along with ammunition. Police say one of the suspects has previously been involved in drug-related activities.
In a separate operation in Lautoka, a joint taskforce comprising police and military officers seized plastic packets containing white substances and green leaves believed to be marijuana. A suspect was taken into custody as investigations continued.
Another joint taskforce raid was carried out in Legalega, where police reported further positive finds.
All four suspects remain in custody.
The seized substances have been sent for analysis to determine their composition, while the ammunition will be handed over to the Republic of Fiji Military Forces for inspection.
