Damodar Welcomes 5 Years of Economic Growth

Damodar Welcomes 5 Years of Economic Growth

Damodar Group has reaffirmed its confidence in Fiji’s economic future, calling for continued private sector investment as the country heads towards a fifth consecutive year of economic growth in 2026.

Damodar Group Chief Executive Officer said Fiji’s sustained economic growth since 2022 reflects the resilience of the country, its businesses and workforce despite ongoing global challenges.

The CEO pointed to pressures including geopolitical conflicts, rising oil prices and increased import costs as challenges that have tested Fiji’s economy.

He also welcomed Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka’s comments highlighting the important role of businesses and workers in driving economic growth.

The Damodar Group says it remains committed to investing in Fiji through developments in retail, cinema, property, tourism, technology and commercial infrastructure.

The company also highlighted its contribution to employment and local livelihoods through the creation of career opportunities and support for businesses within its supply chains.

According to the group, economic growth should translate into tangible benefits for ordinary Fijians through greater employment opportunities, stronger local trade and improved services and facilities.

The company said continued private sector investment would be essential to maintaining Fiji’s economic momentum and supporting long-term development.

Damodar Group said it looks forward to working with Government, industry partners and the local workforce to ensure the current period of economic growth develops into sustainable progress for Fiji.

“Fiji’s best days are ahead of us. Let’s keep building together,” the group said.
