Members of the Australian Federal Police (AFP) joined Pacific law enforcement colleagues to farewell Acting Sergeant Lanieta Navitilevu of the Fiji Police Force, who is stepping down as Team Leader at the Pacific Transnational Crime Coordination Centre (PTCCC).
The farewell event was attended by Samoa Police, Prisons & Corrections Services Commissioner Auapaau Logoitino Filipo, who also serves as Executive Sponsor of the Pacific Transnational Crime Network (PTCN), along with members of Samoa’s Transnational Crime Unit and PTCCC secondees from across the region.
Acting Sergeant Navitilevu has been recognised for her outstanding leadership, receiving the prestigious Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police Chair Award for her contributions to regional safety and security.
Her work has played a key role in strengthening proactive criminal intelligence and investigative capabilities in the fight against transnational crime.
Known for her integrity, vision, and compassion, Navitilevu has been an inspiring figure, especially for aspiring women leaders in law enforcement across the Pacific. Her leadership not only led to operational successes but also laid the groundwork for future generations.
The PTCCC, which forms part of the Pacific Transnational Crime Network, includes members from the Fiji Police Force, Nauru Police Force, Fiji Revenue and Customs Service, Tonga Police, and Police Nationale Nouvelle-Calédonie.
The AFP said it remains committed to supporting the PTCN and its mission to ensure safety and security in the Pacific region.
