All Leads Being Pursued in Racagi Investigation
FIJI NEWS

Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu has assured members of the public that all information gathered in relation to the death of Police Constable Peniasi Racagi is being actively pursued by investigators.
Commissioner Tudravu said speculation that investigators are being selective in the way the investigation is being conducted is not true.
He said a separate team has been established within the Criminal Investigations Department to specifically examine claims regarding the possible involvement of police officers.
“Silence does not mean we are being complicit and trying to hide the truth or protect officers involved,” Commissioner Tudravu said.
“I reiterate once again, if there is sufficient credible evidence, we will pursue charges, as police officers are equally accountable to the law.”
The Commissioner also urged members of the public to use official reporting channels if they have information that could assist investigators.
He said all information shared with the police will be treated confidentially.
Commissioner Tudravu added that the investigation teams are being led by senior investigators to ensure the process is conducted professionally.
“I am again urging the public to trust the process. The Fiji Police Force is not hiding anything or protecting police officers,” he said.
“There are processes that investigators must comply with before they bring in people for questioning so as not to compromise the case.”
Members of the public who may have information related to the case are urged to contact the Fiji Police Headquarters Call Centre on 1681.
