Attorney-General Graham Leung Dismissed by Prime Minister Rabuka

Attorney-General Graham Leung has been dismissed by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka earlier today reports FijiVillage.
Leung confirmed his dismissal to Fijivillage News, acknowledging the Prime Minister's constitutional authority to appoint or remove ministers. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and wished the government success in its endeavors.
Leung's dismissal coincides with significant changes within the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC). Commissioner Barbara Malimali has been suspended pending a police investigation into allegations raised in a Commission of Inquiry report. Lavi Rokoika has been appointed as Acting Commissioner, and Lisiate Fotofili's appointment as Deputy Commissioner has been rescinded, returning him to his substantive position in the Judiciary.
Leung, a seasoned lawyer and former president of the Fiji Law Society, was appointed Attorney-General in June 2024, succeeding Siromi Turaga.
The Prime Minister's Office has yet to release an official statement regarding the reasons for Leung's dismissal or the appointment of his successor.
