Ba Football to Donate Gate-takings for Manuca's Cancer Treatment
SPORTSFIJI NEWS

The Ba football community is coming together to support one of its own, with a special fundraising initiative announced for former Ba and Fiji national striker Tuimasi Manuca, who is currently battling cancer.
Ba Football Association President Praneel Dayal has confirmed that 100 percent of Ba’s share of the gate takings from this weekend’s Ba vs Suva match at Govind Park will be donated to assist with Manuca’s medical treatment.
Manuca was a key member of Ba’s historic 2007 “Clean Sweep” team, which dominated Fijian football by winning all major competitions that year. Known for his determination and attacking flair, he remains a respected figure among Ba supporters and the wider football community.
Announcing the initiative, Dayal said the club and its supporters have a duty to stand by one of their former players during a difficult time.
“This weekend, when we face Suva at home, we aren’t just playing for the win — we’re playing for a brother. I am declaring that 100 percent of the gate takings, Ba’s share, from the Ba vs Suva match will be donated directly to Tuimasi’s medical recovery,” Dayal said.
He urged supporters to fill Govind Park and show their support for the former striker.
“We need every seat filled. If you love Ba Football, if you remember Tuimasi’s magic on the pitch, and if you believe in the power of our community, be there. Every ticket purchased will go directly towards his urgent medical tests, chemotherapy and treatment.”
Dayal also encouraged people who cannot attend the match to support the fundraiser by sharing the appeal or contributing directly to help Manuca and his family.
