Ba Seal Quadruple, Bring Glory Home
The 2026 football season will be remembered as one of the finest in Ba’s recent history, with the Men in Black capturing four major titles and restoring the district’s reputation as a powerhouse of Fijian football.
Ba completed their remarkable campaign by defeating Navua 2-0 in the Inter-District Championship final at HFC Bank Stadium, adding the prestigious IDC trophy to their Fiji FACT, Battle of the Giants and National League triumphs.
For the football-crazy town of Ba, the quadruple represents far more than four trophies. It is the culmination of a season built on hard work, determination, discipline and a shared commitment to bringing glory back to the district.
Much of the credit must go to interim president Praneel Dayal and his management team, whose leadership throughout the season helped guide Ba to one of its most successful campaigns in recent history.
Managing Ba Football has never been an easy responsibility. Expectations are enormous, supporters demand success, and every result is closely scrutinised by a town where football is deeply embedded in its identity.
In 2026, Dayal and his management delivered.
Under coach Ravinesh Kumar, the Men in Black demonstrated remarkable consistency across four competitions, maintaining their hunger and determination even as expectations grew with each successive title.
Their achievement also brings back memories of Ba’s extraordinary 2006 season, when the district, under then-president Rishi Kumar, captured five major titles: the Champion versus Champion, Fiji FACT, Battle of the Giants, Inter-District Championship and National League.
Ba also enjoyed a memorable four-title season in 2013, winning the Champion versus Champion, Battle of the Giants, National League and IDC.
The class of 2026 has now added its own chapter to that proud history, giving supporters another season to cherish alongside those earlier achievements.
While the players deserve enormous recognition for their performances on the field, the contribution of those working behind the scenes should not be overlooked.
Dayal and his management, the coaching staff, sponsors, volunteers and countless others all played important roles in ensuring the team had the support and direction needed to succeed.
Above all, the season belonged to Ba’s passionate supporters, who have remained loyal to the black jersey through periods of triumph and disappointment.
For a district with such a rich footballing tradition, success is never simply measured by participation. It is measured by trophies, consistency and the ability to rise to the occasion when it matters most.
By those standards, Ba’s 2026 campaign was an outstanding success.
Four major titles, a season of remarkable consistency and a place in the district’s footballing history.
The Men in Black have given Ba a year to remember.
