As the world marks International Women's Day (IWD) 2025, Judy Compain, a passionate advocate for gender equality, has called for a shift from mere celebration to meaningful action.

In her statement on twitter (X), Compain highlights the need for women to be brave and for their voices to be heard. She emphasises that respect should not be something women must fight for, but rather something that should be inherently given.

“On this #InternationalWomensDay, we need to be brave, our voices must be heard, and respect must be given, not fought for,” Compain said, emphasising highlighting the importance of true equality. “To the men who stand with us, don’t just ‘celebrate’ IWD, practice what you preach. Support. Advocate. Take action.”

Her statement calls for men to go beyond simply acknowledging International Women's Day to actively supporting and advocating for women's rights in their daily lives.

It’s a reminder that gender equality requires action, not just words, and that the fight for women’s rights is one that everyone must engage in.
