Fiji’s 2025–2026 National Budget has been passed in Parliament with overwhelming support, securing 75 percent of the votes.
The budget received backing from the majority of MPs after several days of heated debate, with key issues such as cost of living, infrastructure development, and job creation taking centre stage.
Finance Minister Professor Biman Prasad introduced the budget last month, describing it as one that prioritises economic stability, social welfare, and growth.
With the vote concluded, the budget is now set to be implemented starting August 1.
