Bula FC activities ‘don’t concern fans’ says the club

Bula Football Club chairman Marc McElrath has dismissed concerns raised by supporters over the club’s merchandise arrangements, saying the club’s internal decisions “have nothing to do with the fans”.
Speaking to the Fiji Sun, the McDonald's owner confirmed that the club sources its playing kits from RK21, a company owned by Bula FC captain Roy Krishna, and that Krishna’s wife, Naziah, is employed as the club’s acting commercial manager.
McElrath insisted there was no conflict of interest, repeatedly stressing that Bula FC is a private company and can “purchase from anybody” and “hire whoever it chooses”.
“As a private company, we do not have to disclose the process used to determine the club’s merchandise suppliers,” McElrath said, adding that the club was under no obligation to advertise or explain its decisions to the public.
He also said the arrangements “really have nothing to do with the fans”.
The comments come amid growing questions from supporters about transparency, governance and accountability at Fiji’s first professional football club.
