Bulitavu Calls for Premila Kumar’s Resignation Over Political Allegiances
FIJI NEWS

Minister for Climate Change, Hon. Mosese Bulitavu, has called for the resignation of the Opposition’s Hon. Premila Kumar, accusing her of trying to align herself with both the Leader of the Opposition’s new movement and the "Aiyaz-Sayed-Khaiyum/Bainimarama" faction, as he labels it.
He claims she is politically inconsistent and should step down if she cannot fully commit to the new movement.
Bulitavu’s criticism also included Kumar’s stance on the controversial MP salary increase.
"Despite voting against the pay raise earlier in 2024, she has continued to benefit from the higher salary since it took effect in August," claimed Bulitavu.
Bulitavu argues that this contradicts her earlier position and adds to the perception of hypocrisy.
Bulitavu also called out Ketan Lal for pretending to be against the pay raise but continuing to benefit from it, reiterating his earlier calls.
Unlike Hon. Premila Kumar, who voted against the pay raise, Ketan Lal abstained from voting on the matter, which many on social media say is a clear sign that he wanted the pay to increase.
We have sent questions to Hon. Kumar.
