Cabinet Approves $78.5 Million Redeployment in 2024–2025 Budget

The Fijian Government has approved the third redeployment of funds within the 2024–2025 National Budget, with Cabinet endorsing an additional FJ$78,556,185.00 (VIP) in expenditure to meet pressing financial demands across several sectors.

According to Cabinet, the funds will be redirected to cover the following:

Procurement of x-ray machines for the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service – $11 million

Additional paddy grant to Fiji Rice Limited – $1.4 million

Personal emoluments for the Ministries of Education and Health – $23.8 million and $10 million, respectively

Operating grant to the Fiji Meats Industry Board – $300,000

Payment of outstanding film tax rebates – $22.1 million

Health Public Private Partnership (PPP) payments – $10 million

This marks the third redeployment of funds within the current financial year.
