The Fijian Cabinet, during its 1st meeting of 2025, approved several key initiatives aimed at improving the nation’s services and environmental conservation.

A new Drug Rehabilitation Centre will be established within the Fiji Corrections Service to support offenders’ rehabilitation.

Fiji also partnered with National Geographic on the Pristine Seas Initiative to protect marine ecosystems.

Additionally, revised fees for public services, including market stall rentals in Nausori, Rakiraki, and Tavua, will be implemented once new by-laws are gazetted.

Fiji will also host the 2025 Pacific Public Service Leaders Conference to enhance regional collaboration. Lastly, a State Grant will be issued to Robert Pearson Miller for land conversion, finalizing land ownership.

These initiatives reflect the government’s focus on social welfare, environmental protection, and governance improvements.
