Cabinet Approves Review of 2013 Constitution
FIJI NEWS

Fiji’s Cabinet has approved steps to review the 2013 Constitution.
A bill to amend parts of Chapter 11 of the Constitution will soon be prepared and presented in Parliament.
A Constitution Review Commission will also be set up to gather feedback from the people of Fiji as part of a consultative process.
The 2013 Constitution has faced criticism over how it was introduced and some of its content.
Prime Minister Hon. Sitiveni Rabuka noted that reviewing the Constitution was a key promise in many political parties’ campaigns during the 2022 general elections.
This review will now be part of the Coalition Government's 2025 Legislative Programme, with more details to be shared by the President during the opening of Parliament next month.
