Central Division Police Parade Emphasises Unity, Visibility and Family Support

Undeterred by the rainy weather, officers of the Central Policing Division gathered at Nasova Grounds this morning for their Divisional Quarterly Parade, marking a significant show of unity and discipline in Fiji’s capital.
The parade was led by Divisional Police Commander Central, Superintendent of Police (SP) Ruci Nasemira, who addressed her officers for the first time since assuming the post in March this year.
In her address, SP Ruci acknowledged the distinct demands faced by officers policing the heart of the country. “As officers of the Central Division, our work is highly visible. We operate in the heart of Fiji — the bustling streets of Suva, home to government institutions, financial hubs, diplomatic missions, and diverse communities,” she said. “We are not only responsible for enforcing the law; we are the daily face of public safety.”
Emphasizing the need for mutual care and vigilance within the force, SP Ruci urged officers to support each other in what she described as a “stressful, demanding, and sometimes dangerous” profession.
“Let’s check on one another. Speak up if something is wrong. We are more than a workforce — we are a family in uniform. Our unity is our greatest strength.”
She also extended heartfelt appreciation to the families of officers, describing them as the “silent strength” behind every achievement in the force.
“We know it’s not easy. Your support is seen, valued, and deeply appreciated. Behind every strong officer is a strong family, and we are grateful for you.”
The parade highlighted the Central Division’s continued commitment to visibility, professionalism, and community policing at the core of the capital’s complex social and political landscape.
