Charlie Charters has pleaded not guilty to two counts of aiding and abetting and has been granted permission by the Suva Magistrates Court to travel overseas this month.

According to the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC), Resident Magistrate Shageeth Somaratne allowed Charters’ bail variation application to travel to Australia for employment purposes.

The Court was satisfied that the travel was essential for his work and that sufficient family ties and sureties exist to ensure his return to Fiji.

Charters is permitted to travel to Australia on or after 5 March 2026 and must return to Fiji by 26 March 2026.

He has been ordered to deposit $2,500 cash bail, while his three sureties must each enter into $20,000 personal bonds and surrender their travel documents to the court.

The matter has been adjourned to 30 March 2026 for a pre-trial conference.
