Children in Gaza receives Polio vaccines during war
WORLD

According to the U.N. Palestinian refugee agency UNRWA the second stage of a campaign that has vaccinated 187,000 children against polio began on Thursday after Hamas and Israel agreed on limited pauses in their fighting.
Despite the success of the polio campaign, diplomatic efforts to end the war, release Gaza hostages, and return Palestinian prisoners have failed.
After the discovery of a partially paralyzed one-year-old baby, health officials aim to vaccinate 640,000 Gaza children against polio.
This was the first recorded case in 25 years. UNRWA reported on Wednesday that the polio vaccine was being distributed to children, but a temporary ceasefire in the 11-month-old war was needed to reduce humanitarian suffering.
