China Cries Bully While Bullying Taiwan: U.S. Embassy Fires Back
WORLDFIJI NEWS

The Chinese Ambassador to Fiji accused the United States of “economic bullying” in a recent media appearance, criticising American tariffs as unfair and coercive.
But the U.S. Embassy in Suva wasn’t having it.
In a stinging response posted to social media, the embassy simply shared the article with the caption “Matthew 7:3”.
The verse? "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?"
The message was clear — don't be hypocrites. While China attacks U.S. economic policies, it continues to strong-arm smaller nations across the Pacific — especially when it comes to Taiwan.
China routinely threatens to cut diplomatic and economic ties with any country that recognises Taiwan’s independence.
That’s not diplomacy. That’s extortion.
In Fiji, the Chinese Embassy has repeatedly pressured the government to avoid all formal contact with Taiwan.
This isn’t new. It's part of a well-documented global strategy of China using its economic power to strong-arm smaller nations.
Overseas, China regularly flexes its military muscle by staging aggressive exercises near Taiwan’s borders — flying warplanes into Taiwanese airspace, sailing warships through nearby waters, and simulating blockades.
