In response to growing concerns about the lack of police action regarding a breach of a domestic violence restraining order in the Western Division, Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu has reiterated his call for frontline officers to focus on the basics of policing.

The issue came to light after a video of the incident was shared on social media, prompting the Divisional Police Commander West to personally contact the complainant.

A report was officially lodged this morning, and the victim has been assured that officers are actively searching for the suspect, who has a history of similar offenses and has previously been charged and produced in court.

Commissioner Tudravu acknowledged that the lack of police response has been a persistent problem and emphasized the importance of treating all reports with urgency.

He reminded managers at the frontline to maintain a high standard of service at all times.

Tudravu has assured the public that there are ongoing efforts to address the basics of policing, which continue to hinder effective service delivery within the organization.

He emphasized that improving these fundamentals is crucial for the safety and security of the community.
