Meet Sergeant (Sgt) 2934 Etonia Vuli, the Community Policing Officer at Nadi Police Station, who was recently awarded the Fiji Police Long Service and Good Conduct Medal.
Sgt Vuli, originally from Yalobi, Yasawa, expressed his honor in receiving the medal yesterday morning from the Acting Commissioner of Police.
Having joined the Fiji Police Force in 1998 as a Special Constable, he became a regular member of the Force in 2001.
Throughout his career, Sgt Vuli has served at various police stations, including Lautoka, Namaka, Nadi, and Sigatoka, and has also worked as a dog handler with the K-9 Unit.
“This is the biggest highlight of my policing career where the head of the organization recognized my contributions towards policing. This is a proud moment for me and my family,” said Sgt Vuli.
He dedicated the medal to his family, who have always been a pillar of strength behind his work.
“My family had to endure the long hours I was away from home, the sleepless nights, and the missed meals due to the nature of policing work.
This is what policing demands from us, and it will take a lot of understanding from our families to handle all this,” he added.
Sgt Vuli looks forward to expressing his gratitude to his family for their unwavering support as he continues his role as the Cluster Chief of Nadi Police Station.
