Typhoon Shanshan struck the country leading to a death of 4 people, 94 injured and one person still missing. A body was found in the sea, but still unclear if it was the missing person.

More than 700 flights were canceled, trains were halted, and roads were closed. Toyota and other companies have stopped producing goods in Japan.

The typhoon caused extensive damage with strong winds, a lot of rain and floods. Communities were cut off as a result of fallen trees blocking roads, causing damage to homes and power outages.

The typhoon weakened to a severe tropical storm and is currently unleashing powerful winds and torrential rains as it moves northeastward.
