FIJI NEWS

Members of the Association of the University of the South Pacific Staff and the USP Staff Union, who have been on strike for the past four days, have returned to teaching.
Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has directed the Minister for Education, Mr. Aseri Radrodro, to call an immediate meeting of the USP Council to discuss the staff's grievances.
Meanwhile, over 100 students are protesting for the removal of Vice Chancellor Professor Pal Ahluwalia.
The students chanted “Pal must go” outside the Japan ICT Theater and will soon march towards the VC’s office.
They are holding placards with various messages, all directed at the Vice Chancellor.
Further developments are anticipated later this evening at USP.
