The Ministry of Health & Medical Services has confirmed three dengue-related deaths in Fiji, prompting intensified efforts to combat mosquito breeding.

In response, the Nausori Health Office conducted a Source Reduction and Clean-Up Campaign in Waituri last week.

Following a pre-larval survey and house-to-house inspections, the team—alongside the Fiji Police Force—held an evening awareness session.

White bags, garbage bags, and flyers were distributed, while households with mosquito larvae were issued notices under Section 109 of the Public Health Act.

Skip bins were provided for the disposal of potential breeding sites, including old appliances, tyres, and bottles.

The Nausori Health Team expressed gratitude to the community for their cooperation in reducing the risk of dengue.
