As Diwali approaches, the Ministry of Lands and Mineral Resources has issued important regulations regarding fireworks.

Fireworks can only be used from 5 PM to midnight on November 1.

This timeframe is designed to ensure safety for children and the surrounding community.

Only individuals over the age of 18 are permitted to purchase fireworks, and homemade fireworks, such as bamboo guns, are strictly prohibited.

The ministry has highlighted that fireworks fall under the United Nations Hazard Classification System as Class 13 and 14, indicating that close adult supervision is essential when children are present.

Additionally, parents and adults are urged to avoid smoking or drinking while handling fireworks.

It is also important that fireworks are lit outside, away from homes, vehicles, and any potential fire hazards.

The Ministry emphasizes the importance of following these guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable Diwali for everyone.
