Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Hon. Professor Biman Prasad, has reaffirmed the Coalition Government’s commitment to revitalising rural Fiji during a visit to Lalakoro in Seaqaqa, Vanua Levu.
Speaking to farmers and families, Professor Prasad acknowledged their resilience and outlined the government’s vision to unlock Vanua Levu’s full potential.
“There is strength and hope in these voices,” he said. “We came to listen, not just to speak. What we heard will shape how we move forward—together. Vanua Levu is rising, and so is rural Fiji.”
The Deputy PM stressed that rural development is vital for a more inclusive economy and highlighted plans to improve access to infrastructure, markets, and essential services.
“This is not just about agriculture—it’s about people, dignity, and opportunity. When our farmers thrive, Fiji thrives,” he said.
The visit is part of the government’s ongoing strategy to strengthen grassroots engagement and ensure national development is informed by those on the ground.
