Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Honourable Professor Biman Prasad, visited the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Sydney, where he was warmly received by devotees.
During his visit, Professor Prasad toured the temple grounds, which span 25 acres and feature beautifully designed spaces with ongoing construction to further expand the Mandir complex.
He commended the scale of the project and the dedication of the community in creating a place that will serve not only as a centre of worship, but also as a hub of culture, spirituality, and learning for generations to come.
Professor Prasad acknowledged the global contributions of BAPS through its network of temples, schools, hospitals, and community service initiatives.
Looking ahead, Professor Prasad welcomed BAPS’ plans to construct a replica of the Canberra Mandir in Suva.
He said this project will not only provide a sacred place of worship but also serve as a landmark and centre of attraction for Fiji, bringing people together, inspiring unity, and contributing to Fiji’s reputation as a nation enriched by faith and cultural diversity.
