A new drug rehabilitation centre has officially opened in Lololo, Drasa, Lautoka, providing crucial support for individuals struggling with addiction.

The facility aims to regenerate hope and facilitate recovery for those in need.

The Executive Director of Teen Challenge Fiji, Reverend Hemraj Mangal, announced that the centre currently has a capacity to accommodate 12 residents at a time. Admission is voluntary, but applicants must demonstrate a genuine desire to change their lives.

Reverend Mangal shared plans for future expansion of the centre, pending necessary approvals.

The vision includes the construction of an 80-bed men's facility, which will be developed in four phases.

Each phase will feature the construction of a 20-bed dormitory, complete with essential amenities.

In addition to the men's centre, Reverend Mangal expressed intentions to establish an 80-bed centre for women and children as funding becomes available.

This initiative will be complemented by a Vocational Training Centre, which aims to equip residents with skills in using electrical power tools, small farm implements, carpentry, joinery, and agriculture-based farming activities.

Reverend Mangal is extending an invitation to the community to support this vital initiative, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in serving future generations affected by drug addiction.

The rehabilitation centre stands as a beacon of hope, committed to transforming lives and fostering recovery in Lautoka.
