FIJI NEWS

The Ministry of Finance has issued an early payment of $40.4 million for the 2025 Back-to-School Support initiative, earlier than the previously announced date of January 15, 2025.
This early payment allows parents two and a half weeks to prepare their children for school.
Of the 208,673 applications received, 200,176 were successful and processed, while 8,313 applications are on hold pending Year-12 exam results.
Parents can access the $200 per child via MPAiSA, MyCASH accounts, and Post Fiji outlets. The funds can be withdrawn or used digitally for school supplies.
Maritime area residents can collect funds at the nearest Post Fiji agency with their child’s student ID.
The initiative aims to cover the costs of uniforms, school bags, shoes, lunch boxes, stationery, and other essentials.
Since its start, the program has provided approximately $130 million in assistance.
