FCCC Announces Appointment of New CEO, Senikavika Jiuta

The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission (FCCC) has appointed Ms. Senikavika L. Jiuta as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), marking a significant step forward for the organization’s leadership and regulatory initiatives.
In a statement, the FCCC Board confirmed Ms. Jiuta’s appointment, highlighting her extensive experience in consumer rights, legal governance, and regulatory leadership.
“Ms. Jiuta brings a wealth of experience and expertise to FCCC, having previously served in senior leadership roles within the organization and the Fijian judiciary,” said FCCC Board Chairman, Mr. Cecil Browne. “Her deep understanding of Fiji’s economic and social landscape, along with her commitment to fairness and transparency, makes her the ideal leader to steer FCCC forward.”
Ms. Jiuta previously served as a Resident Magistrate and held key positions within FCCC, including Manager of Legal, Risk Management, and Governance, as well as General Manager of Operations.
In these roles, she played a pivotal part in strengthening regulatory frameworks and implementing strategic reforms.
Expressing her gratitude, Ms. Jiuta said she was honored to return to FCCC and lead the organization in its ongoing efforts to ensure fair competition and consumer protection.
“The Commission plays a crucial role in safeguarding consumer rights and promoting competitive market practices. I look forward to continuing FCCC’s mission of ensuring a fair, transparent, and sustainable marketplace for all Fijians,” she said.
She also acknowledged the growing challenges in Fiji’s economic landscape, particularly in addressing unfair market practices and increasing digital scams.
“As CEO, I will ensure that we remain proactive in tackling emerging consumer issues, strengthening enforcement, and upholding the highest standards of regulatory excellence,” she added.
