Fiji and Cuba Reaffirm Strong Diplomatic Relations

Fiji and Cuba have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening diplomatic ties as Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka joined diplomats and distinguished guests to celebrate Cuba’s National Day at the new Cuban Embassy in Suva.
Cuba’s Ambassador to Fiji, José Manuel Galego Montano, expressed his appreciation to attendees and reiterated Cuba’s dedication to further collaboration with Fiji in areas of mutual interest.
Speaking on behalf of the Coalition Government, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Chief of Protocol Kiti Temo conveyed Fiji’s best wishes and acknowledged Cuba’s long-standing support, particularly in medical scholarships for local and regional students.
The event highlighted the growing bilateral partnership between the two nations, founded on mutual respect, shared values, and a commitment to global justice.
Diplomatic relations between Fiji and Cuba were established in 2002 and continue to strengthen on both bilateral and multilateral fronts.
