Fiji and India Strengthen Bilateral Ties

Fiji and India have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing bilateral relations, focusing on infrastructure, renewable energy, climate change, health, IT, education, sustainable agriculture, and cultural ties.

During an introductory courtesy call, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Raijeli Taga, welcomed the new High Commissioner of India to Fiji, H.E. Mr. Suneet Mehta.

Dr. Taga appreciated India's support for major projects like the 100-bed Super Speciality Hospital in Fiji.

High Commissioner Mehta emphasized India's dedication to aligning its development assistance with Fiji’s needs, highlighting infrastructure investment, capacity building, and climate-resilient initiatives.

Both sides expressed optimism about future collaborations, aiming to elevate their partnership to new levels for mutual benefit.
