Fiji and Serbia to Strengthen Public Service Cooperation

Fiji and Serbia are set to strengthen cooperation in public administration and professional development through a proposed Memorandum of Cooperation.

Prime Minister and Minister responsible for Civil Service Sitiveni Rabuka told Parliament that the agreement between Serbia’s National Academy for Public Administration (NAPA) and Fiji’s Fiji Learning Institute for Public Service (FLIPS) will provide opportunities to exchange knowledge, expertise and best practices.

The partnership will support leadership development, staff exchanges, study visits, seminars and joint workshops, while strengthening institutional capacity.

Rabuka said the agreement would give Fijian public servants greater access to international experience in governance, public policy and administration.

He said the partnership would complement Fiji’s existing training programmes and help develop a modern, skilled and future-ready public service.

Fiji has completed its domestic approval process, while Serbia is finalising its internal requirements.
