On March 14, 2025, Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Manoa Kamikamica addressed the World Consumer Rights Day celebration in Suva, urging consumers to support local, sustainable products.
With the theme “A Just Transition to Sustainable Lifestyles,” Kamikamica highlighted the need for bold leadership and inclusivity in adapting to environmental changes, especially for communities reliant on fishing and farming.
He emphasized integrating traditional practices with modern policies to ensure sustainability, while also discussing the government’s efforts to make sustainable options more accessible.
Kamikamica urged businesses to innovate sustainably and consumers to make informed choices, stressing the role of digital platforms in promoting transparency and fair trade.
