Fiji Expands Vocational Education to Boost Employment Opportunities
FIJI NEWS

The Fijian Government, through the Ministry of Education, is working closely with the Higher Education Commission Fiji (HECF) to accredit vocational schools across the country.
According to Minister for Education, Hon. Aseri Radrodro, four secondary schools have already been registered with HECF, with plans to accredit an additional ten schools in 2025.
This initiative aims to provide students with industry-recognized qualifications, increasing their employability and career prospects.
Minister Radrodro emphasized the importance of this initiative in supporting students who have previously dropped out of school or prefer skill-based education over traditional academic pathways.
“This is crucial to allow the workforce to be recognized and accept the certificates produced by students studying at vocational centers through TVET.
It provides employment viability for our students, many of whom had dropped out of school previously, and those who prefer to study job-ready skill subjects instead of the normal school curriculum,” he stated.
