Fiji Expresses Solidarity with Myanmar and Thailand Following Devastating Earthquake

Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Hon. Sitiveni Rabuka has extended Fiji’s condolences and support to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Kingdom of Thailand following the devastating earthquake that struck Southeast Asia on March 28, 2025.
In an official statement, Prime Minister Rabuka expressed deep sorrow over the tragic event and offered Fiji’s sympathy to those affected.
"This unfortunate event has undoubtedly brought immense sorrow to many. On behalf of the people and the Government of Fiji, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families who have lost loved ones, and our prayers and thoughts are for a swift recovery to those who have been injured," he said.
The Prime Minister also confirmed that Fiji’s diplomatic missions in the region have accounted for the safety of all Fijians in Myanmar and Thailand. Officials continue to monitor the situation in close coordination with relevant authorities.
"I urge all Fijians in the affected areas to remain alert and comply with local safety measures," he advised.
Emphasizing Fiji’s solidarity with Myanmar and Thailand, Prime Minister Rabuka reaffirmed the nation's support during this difficult time.
"We pray for eternal peace and rest for those who lost their lives in this tragedy," he concluded.
