Fiji Labour Party Questions PM’s Stance on Lynda Tabuya
FIJI NEWS

The Fiji Labour Party (FLP) has criticized Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka over what it describes as inconsistencies in his stance on Lynda Tabuya’s political future.
In a statement, the FLP questioned the Prime Minister’s shifting remarks, pointing out that while Tabuya was initially relegated to the backbenches, Rabuka later suggested in a March 7 interview with the Fiji Sun that she could return to Cabinet, possibly as Minister for Information.
However, in a subsequent Fiji Times interview, he dismissed the idea of reinstating her immediately, stating that he would not displace any sitting minister.
The FLP also raised concerns over allegations made by Opposition Leader Inia Seruiratu, who claimed that Coalition MPs had been bribed to support the Constitution Amendment Bill.
The party questioned whether two MPs were offered inducements to vote in favor of the bill.
Additionally, the FLP highlighted that former Fisheries Minister Kalaveti Ravu, recently cleared of corruption charges, is now also in contention for a Cabinet position—adding to what they called an “already bloated” government.
