Fiji Mourns the Passing of Agni Deo Singh

Fiji is mourning the passing of Minister for Employment, Productivity and Workplace Relations, Honourable Agni Deo Singh, who passed away in Brisbane today.

The Office of the Prime Minister confirmed his passing in a statement, with Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka extending his deepest condolences to Singh’s family, loved ones, colleagues and friends during this difficult time.

Prime Minister Rabuka paid tribute to Singh’s dedicated service to the workers and people of Fiji and acknowledged his invaluable contribution to the Coalition Government and the nation.

Singh was a prominent advocate for workers throughout his career and continued that service at the highest levels of Government as Minister for Employment, Productivity and Workplace Relations.

Further details regarding funeral arrangements and other official matters will be announced in due course.

The Government has asked members of the public and media to respect the privacy of Singh’s family during their time of mourning.
