The Republic of Fiji Navy celebrated its 50th anniversary yesterday with a commemorative march through Suva City, paying tribute to its veterans for their service and sacrifice.

As part of naval tradition, Division Police Commander Central, Superintendent of Police Ruci Nasemira, halted the procession and formally demanded the Freedom of Entry into the city. The scroll bearer then presented the Freedom of Entry, after which permission was granted for the march to continue.

With swords drawn, bayonets fixed and drums beating, the Fiji Navy proceeded through the capital to mark this significant milestone in its history.

The Fiji Police Force extended its congratulations, wishing the Republic of Fiji Navy a happy anniversary.
