The Fiji Police Force (FPF) has started reviewing the Fiji Police Academy’s School of Community Policing Curriculum as part of its ongoing transformation efforts.

According to the FPF, the review aligns with the FPF Training and Development Framework to enhance policing quality, consistency, and reliability.

It follows Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu’s focus on strengthening community policing as an effective crime prevention tool.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Administration (ACP/A) Meli Sateki stated that the review aims to equip officers with role-specific training rather than just rank-based learning, ensuring they are well-prepared for their duties.

He urged participants, including senior and frontline officers, retired officers, and New Zealand Police advisors, to contribute openly to shaping a curriculum that benefits future police generations.

The consultation will conclude on Friday.
