Fiji Police Charge Two Women for Fraudulent Activities on Mpaisa Platform

The Fiji Police Force's Mpaisa Taskforce has charged a 23-year-old unemployed woman from Rakiraki for fraudulently obtaining $336.00 from a member of the public via the Mpaisa platform on January 31 last year.

She withdrew the funds after they were automatically deposited into her account, even though she was not eligible.

She is currently in custody and will appear in the Sigatoka Magistrate Court today.

In another case, a 44-year-old caregiver from Lautoka has been charged for obtaining $250.00 through the Mpaisa platform on January 3 last year.

She created a Facebook account for her husband without his consent and was conducting transactions under his name.

She is also in custody and will appear in the Lautoka Magistrate Court today.
