Fiji Police Force Mourns the Passing of Assistant Commissioner Sakeo Raikaci

The Fiji Police Force is mourning the untimely passing of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) and Chief of Staff (COS) Sakeo Raikaci, who was called to eternal rest on 26 April 2025.

Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu expressed the organisation’s deep sadness over the loss, extending heartfelt condolences to ACP Raikaci’s family.

He acknowledged their unwavering support of a career police officer who served Fiji with loyalty and dedication for 35 years.

Commissioner Tudravu described the late ACP Raikaci as a formidable leader, known for his commitment, loyalty, and professionalism, which saw him rise steadily through the ranks to the position of Assistant Commissioner of Police.

ACP Raikaci had also acted as Deputy Commissioner of Police and Acting Commissioner of Police on several occasions, providing sound leadership during the absence of Acting Commissioner Juki Fong Chew.

Joining the Fiji Police Force on 21 May 1990, ACP Raikaci served in various capacities including Tavua Police Station, Major Fraud Unit, Nabua, Prosecution Unit in Nausori, CID Headquarters, Director Legal (PHQ), Training and Development Officer – Prosecution, Director Internal Affairs, Director Prosecution, and Police Liaison Officer at the Ministry of Defence and National Security.

He was appointed Assistant Commissioner Chief of Investigation, Intelligence and Prosecution before serving as Chief of Staff at the time of his passing.

ACP Raikaci’s career reflected a wealth of experience and versatility, combining operational policing skills with legal expertise.

Holding a Degree in Law and Legal Practice, he was recognised for mastering both prosecutorial and intelligence operations.

His contributions to the Fiji Police Force and the communities he served will be remembered with respect and gratitude.

Commissioner Tudravu said ACP Raikaci leaves behind a lasting legacy, with his loss deeply felt not only by his family but by the entire Fiji Police Force, where he dedicated 35 years of distinguished service.
