Rakiraki Police are actively investigating a case of alleged sacrilege following a theft at the Dugapatu Mariamman Temple on April 12th, 2025.
According to reports, the suspect forcibly entered the temple premises and stole sound equipment valued at over $1,000. The theft, which occurred in the early hours of the morning, has raised concerns within the local community, with members expressing outrage over the desecration of a religious site.
In response to the crime, police officers have been carrying out house-to-house inquiries in the area, aiming to identify and swiftly arrest the individual responsible.
