Fiji Police Urge Residents in Navua to Nausori Corridor to Stay Alert for Flash Flooding

The Fiji Police Force is urging everyone in the Navua to Nausori area to take precaution against flash flooding.

Fiji Police Force Assistant Commissioner of Operations (ACPO) Livai Driu mentioned that the traffic is currently prohibited in some parts of Navua to Nausori corridor due to flooded waters.

He shared that police have received reports of flooding from Navua, Vunaniu, Sawani Princess Road, Navulokani back road (Naitasiri), Muaniweni, Qauia, and Baulevu.

Motorists are advised to take extra precautions, as roads conditions have deteriorated due to heavy rain.

ACPO Driu has also emphasized the availability of evacuation centres along the Navua to Nausori corridor, urging residents in flood-prone areas to move to these centers if needed.

He further stated that everyone must be alert for one another during these adverse weather condition.
